About the Degree
The Bible Translation and Mission (BTM) program at Mekane Yesus Seminary was developed in partnership with Lutheran Bible Translators to prepare students for ministry in Bible translation and Scripture engagement. Offered as a concentration at both the B.Th. and MA levels, the program equips students with knowledge in linguistics, translation theory, biblical exegesis, project management, Hebrew, Greek, and related technical fields. Students are trained to serve as translators, project advisors, and Scripture engagement specialists working to bring God’s Word to Ethiopia’s many languages and communities through faithful translation and mission-centered ministry.
